UPDATED TOP TEN LISTS: TOP TEN RUNNERS | TOP TEN TIMES

I'm going to keep this recap pretty short: While we achieved our goals of individuals earning awards yesterday, our team races weren't what we wanted. Part of that is due to injury reasons, but we also know that we have a lot to continue improving on as postseason draws ever closer.

Both the guys and girls finished in 4th, just missing out on trophies. The girls scored 87 points, 16 points behind Sandwich and the boys finished with 116, 28 points behind Sandwich. We know we've got work to do and injuries to recover from, but are hopeful that we will be healthy and ready to go when postseason arrives in two weeks.

Congratulations go to Halle Nash (7th, 20:05), Peyton Nash (14th, 21:18), and Lily Arndt (16th, 21:23) on running strong races to earn medals in the girls race.

Congratulations also go to Paul Gordon (8th, 17:16 -- just one second off his lifetime best 3 mile PR), Sam Asa (14th, 17:44 -- a lifetime best for 3 miles and a huge new PR) and Jasper Requiron (20th, 18:11) for earning medals in the boys race.

There is no school on Friday, October 9th, due to Institute Day. We will hold practice at 8:00 am, as well as practice at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 9th. All runners are expected to be at both practices, on time.

Next up, we are at the Amboy Columbus Day Invitational on Monday, October 12th. This is our last meet of the regular season before Conference next Saturday, October 17th. It will be a tough field, featuring a lot of Class 1A powerhouse schools that we have seen before and will likely see again during the postseason -- whether it be Regional, Sectional, or State.

Good luck on Monday, Sentinels! We might be shorthanded, but let's show Class 1A what we're made of! Come ready with your "A" game for Amboy!
